Side Factor was found by Brett Blake, a former direct selling executive with deep experience in strategy.
Brett Blake is a strategy consultant, speaker, and author of “Private Equity Investing in Direct Selling,” “RENEWAL: Leading Direct Selling Turnarounds,” “RENEWAL for Field Leaders,” and most recently, “Systems Scale: Eight Systems That Ignite Growth.” He has served as the President, CEO, or GM of a total of seven companies (both public and private), and as a member of the board of directors of several for-profit and non-profit organizations. Brett is an experienced turnaround executive, having led turnaround efforts at five companies. Brett is working on his second book based on a turnaround formula he has developed, the working title of book two is “Renewal: Leading Direct Selling Turnarounds.”
Brett is a Harvard Business School-educated executive with more than twenty years of operating experience at companies like PepsiCo, Beachbody, Origami Owl, and USANA Health Sciences. Brett has led sales growth and guided companies through legal and financial distress in the US, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand.

– GLOBAL SNACKFOOD GIANT FRITO-LAY: PepsiCo asked Brett to create a sales strategy that delivered 17% growth in its Frito-Lay division. Double-digit growth is always impressive, but Brett’s results overlapped a year of unicorn sales gains obtained when the only national competitor, Eagle Brand Snacks, closed its doors and surrendered its shelf space.
— IN-HOME FITNESS LEADER Beachbody charged Brett with fixing Team Beachbody after experiencing a sharp decrease in performance in 2009. Brett’s strategy delivered a three-year CAGR of 65%+ and sales grew from a run rate of $40M to sales of more than $380M. The strategy continued to deliver results and growth to more than $1B.
— USANA Health Sciences saw its stock drop below $1 after years of declining sales. USANA’s board charged Brett with the task of renewing the company’s sales with a strategy that would also improve margins. After the introduction of Brett’s strategy, the company’s stocked sored, and USANA experienced consistent sales, profit, and stock growth for more than 15 years.
